Did you know... The Yugo was built in Yugoslavia by the Zastava factory, and that the Yugo is based on the Fiat 127 platform, modified to meet USA standards for import. The quality and safety of the vehicles were never greatly accepted by Americans. While the price was very low, the public demand wasn't great enough to support Yugo America Corp. which filed for bankruptcy in the early 1990's.
